Weird that Hoyts costs more than Village for regular tickets; Village cinemas seem nicer to me.

  • Just so everyone is aware, Gold class can be cheaper than $31.50 depending on what time of the day you see it, or what day of the week. For instance the 11:50 session of Jersey Boys is only $30. It is a good price if you are wanting to go at a peak time however.

Also, Chadstone Hoyts does not exist anymore.. it is re-opening in 2016.

      Thanks for pointing that out.

Just with regards to Gold Class, I just read what it includes, and it seems like it merely offers nicer seats with a smaller screen and the opportunity to buy overpriced food whilst interrupting the movie-viewing… Or am I missing something? :\

      • No worries :) and yeah it is a private cinema for just gold class customers, the seats recline and have buttons where you can order food throughout etc etc.

I haven't been before but I have been told it's actually very very good. I would never pay full price honestly, been waiting for the magnum deal to possibly come back (used to have a free gold class upgrade if you purchased a full priced adult ticket). I would reserve it for longer movies so you get more moneys worth out of it too.

      • The thing I dislike about Gold Class is that because you can order food to be delivered during the film, there are people wandering around while you are trying to watch, which I find very distracting. Also, the time I went with a couple of girlfriends I had to sit on the other side of the aisle as chairs are arranged in groups of two and the other side was taken. The people next to them ordered smelly food too. The chair was comfy, but I wont go back.

  • Link for more information as well. Good deal op, thanks !

  • What is the cheapest way to get RACV membership?

  • Optus has $10 movie ticket offer at Hoyts.

    • +1

I may be wrong but Optus $10 tix aren't valid after 5pm on Saturdays . Whereas the racv ones are

      • probably only 'Child/Senior restricted tickets', as per terms

Get a 100% discount on Hoyts at Chadstone presently.

    • seating was incredibly uncomfortable on by back and derrier, although there was plenty of legroom.

then some 6 1/2 foot bozo decided to sit in front of me and i couldn't see the film

Note the $3 surcharge for VMAX/XS and $2 for 3D. Hoyts used to be better value for me because they didn't charge for XtremeScreen but these tickets do. I believe the Optus ones only require a surcharge for 3D, so it can work out better value if you're not going after 5pm Saturday.

Thanks, I am a regular movie patron, your information halved my ticket price.
