NOTE: Just because a car seat is rated at 4 years up for a booster, or can be forward facing from 6 months doesn't mean that is necessarily safest practice. According to the manufacturers AND the road rules, a child should not be moved up a stage in seating until the have outgrown the previous one. ie just because your baby reaches 6 months doesn't mean you have to (or should) turn them forward facing - they should remain rear facing until they have reached the marker to do so in newer, height based seats, or the specified height or weight in older seats. Studies have shown that they're far safer rear facing in the event of a front-on collision, which is the most crucial, because of the potential speeds involved (greater collision impact.)

Also, just because your child reaches 4 in a convertible booster isn't the signal to remove the straps. Until such time as they reach the marker for changing to booster, they should remain in an inbuilt 5 or 6 point harness.

  • I'm not sure why there's an ezibuy logo showing in the pic, but the link still clicks through to where it should.
