Powerbank inside car too hot?

Hey,

I remember reading somewhere people using power banks to power a dash cam with motion sensor etc, while the vehicle is parked, i just wish to know would it be too hot to put it under the roof of the car like where the sun visor is? or under the car seat?
Could someone guide me to relevant automotive forum for a good set up guide?

I plan to just use Velcro and stick the powerbank to the roof.

Thanks !!

Beyond the potential of rupture, lithium rechargeables permanently lose - hand over fist - their capacity to hold charge when subjected to high temperatures for any significant length of time.

NiMH rechargeables like Eneloops will cope much, much, better.
There are cheap (a few bucks) and not-so-cheap (20 bucks approx.) 4xAA-based powerbanks available on eBay. Very modest capacity referenced to the 5 volt output (standard Eneloop about 2000MAh; XX Eneloops about 2500Mah), but a far better option than leaving any lithium rechargeables locked in a hot car.

wouldnt putting the battery under the car seat be better as you're not exposed to the sun

also think about the car usage… eg. one of our cars is always garaged and almost never left outside, in that case, yeah go ahead
