How much can I expect for my 2000 Hyundai Accent - Manual

Hi

I have recently bought a new car. I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent GLS for sale (Manual). How much can i expect for it? It has 179k on the odo. The car is running fantastic. It had given me no issues except a cluch problem so i replaced the clutch 8-9 months ago. it has been serviced regularly and it has power windows :D.. I checked on car sales they go for arouind 3.5-4k but i'm being realistic. I am sure i wont get that much for it. also the dealer offered me 1k for trade in which i thought was ridiculous

Your help will be appreciated .

Thank you

  • When you say Car Sales do you mean just casually searching around, or their actual Car Valuation estimator?

    • just searching around. Private price guide says 1.5-3.5k

  • Private sale would probably get you about $2.5k. 1-1.5k at a dealer is probably realsitic.

  • $1000 dealer trade is entirely realistic and that's being generous for a 14 year old hyundai. Was offered $500 trade on a 10 year old civic, and I had just put $50 of petrol in it :) Just bought a hyundai for my wife on the weekend and I don't expect it to be worth anything after 10 years.

Stick it on gumtree and expect to be contacted by idiots who want to swap you a basketball ring and a water slide for it. I had my wrx on gumtree and was offered all kinds of commodores for a swap, one guy offered a Harley which is no good to me as I don't have a bike licence. Or on ebay for 1000 no rwc, no reserve.

  • Saw a ugly army green one asking for $1800 not far away from my place.
