Generator alternative for camping - charging speakers

Hi all,

We're heading away camping on the weekend and we would like to charge a set of portable speakers (2011 Logitech wireless boombox) so we can enjoy music whilst relaxing.

Have looked into hiring a small generator to do the job, does anybody know any other practical alternatives?

Cheers

  • use your car stereo for tunes instead of the boombox? (I am assuming you are driving given the option to bring a gennie)

Worth taking a spare battery for the car if you're doing that..
Stereos can drain a battery if they're on for long enough.

An inverter in the car is another option.. Provided you're driving around for long enough during the day, should provide enough juice for the night.
Solar panel is another (more expensive) option.

Hmmmm maybe leave it behind and listen to the music of nature
Nothing worst than going camping and have to listen to someone else music.
I like camping spots where there is no mobile reception….

  • Solar panel charger are about 40 to $80 depending on what you are charging, I guess Bluetooth speakers are good enough but if it's a boom box, I guess a generator is a good bet or bring a shit load of batteries with you.

  • Thanks scubacoles will look into an inverter.

rps we're going remote camping so no annoying other campers. No other people within a few k's.
