Make old speakers bluetooth receivers

Hi,

I've got some old speakers I'd like to connect to play music through my phone or laptop wirelessly.

Want to do as cheaply as possible, but hope to maintain the sound quality.

I found this for $3-

Apparently, the USB part is to plug into the power (not a laptop) so it is a reciever. I'm kind of confused about this. Can anyone confirm?

Would the sound quality be poor?

  • Are your speakers PC type with built in amplifier? Otherwise you'll need an amp as well. Quality will be OK, comparable to majority of other bluetooth speakers.

  • Yep have an applifier, with RCA & 3.5mm headphone jack. So the sound won't get distorted over such a cheap bluetooth device?

  • I would be interested in something like this as well. Have an old Logitech in the living room that I would like to connect to via Bluetooth. I guess it's $3 and 30 days to find out.

  • Of course , our engineers are very happy to guide users to the proper use of Bluetooth technology , so you can feel the Bluetooth bring you happiness !

    Wow can't go wrong ;)

  • I have one of these cheapo do-hickies and find the sound good enough. You just need to have a usb power source. I used it with a 3.5mm to RCA cable into a yamaha amp.

iphone connected to it without a problem

  • Brilliant.

I can't believe I went this long with cords dangling everywhere.

Will report back in a month when it arrives

  • This is literally the cheapest and best technological investment I've made.

$3, and a phone/laptop etc. can be pumping out of any speakers. So simple. No drama's at all- plugged in and that's it. Quality is perfect, and I plugged it into the USB port on my modem (which is enough power for it)
