Need a chainsaw <$100 if possible

Hey all.

Need a decent quality chainsaw for less than $100 if possible.

Doesn't matter if it's electric or petrol.

Any suggestions, recommendations or advice would be great :)

Thanks!

  • Beware of some of the cheap electric ones.

  • What exactly are you cutting? A cheap chainsaw will only be good for light tree trimming etc. You will need to spend more than $100 if you want something to cut down logs for firewood without the frustration.

  • Aldi has one for $189. Aldi

Off topic…Kids can't purchase knives and spray paint. However is there any restrictions on buying chain saws ?

    • Do you see many kids having street fights with chainsaws or taking them into schools, shopping centres, train stations etc?

      • +1

I never leave home without my trusty chainsaw… you never know when someone will challenge for a duel.

        • Anchorman, perfect example.

  • Borrow one from a mate or rent one. $100 won't get you a good one, it will struggle or will take a while.

  • Ozito Electric Chainsaw for $99 in Bunnings

  • Get the one from bunnings it won't last long but they have easy replacement policy. As long as it's nearby it's probably your best option

  • I bought one of those ozito crap from bunnings stupid thing would not even cut a 20cm round stump

save your cash buying cheap crap from bunnings

  • I have one of those $99 Ozito petrol models, which I use around the garden and so far it has been pretty good. Starts easy and easy to hold as it can be used as a one handed pruner.

Just remember with petrol saws you need 2 stroke fuel so you will need to buy 2 stroke oil to mix with petrol plus a measuring cup.

Doesn't matter if you buy a petrol or electric model you will still need chain bar oil and a file or sharpener for the chain, also the chain needs to be touched up with the file at least every tank full of petrol maybe more depending on what you are cutting ( tree roots and dirt will stuff the chain in a second).
