  • why dont u buy from here… u importing old bikes?

    • if i buy new bike it will cost me $3000 overseas, here its more than $8000.

  • Probably cause they are 20x (guess)more here

    • yes they are more than double price here.

  • A whole lot of trouble to import them, comply them etc etc. I had thought of it previously, but it wasn't worth it. (I still own the Royal Enfields back in India along with a Yezdi and RD350). From the total money spent, I was better off buying a motorbike here. Royal Enfields really had a 'sentimental' value for me. There are way better and safer bikes you can buy from here locally with way less money compared to what you are going to spend on buying it abroad, shipping cost, dock fees, compliance fees, registration and insurance, etc.

Hell, if you want to buy a bike I just put mine up for sale last week :)
I can work out a price for you if you are interested.

    • if shipping cost, dock fees, compliance fees, etc cost total under $2000 it will be cheaper then here. i am after royal enfield, otherwise i would buy your bike with bargain. lol :)

      • +2

It was way more than $2000 when I looked at it around 2010. Shipping company gave me a quote of around $2500-$3000, I think it included insurance.

Dock storage fees adds to it till you clear paperwork etc. It's give or take 3-4 days depending how well you can organize this.

Compliance is going to be major. Needed a list of things for RWC including re-wiring the lights to have it 'always on' with the engine. You can't do a backyard job with compliance, registration authority wants proper paperwork of work done.

Don't forget custom fees etc as well.

A lot of insurance companies here might not insure the bike because it's 'imported'. AAMI does insure it I think. Shannon definitely does.

Do you already have a bike under your name abroad? Do you want to get an Enfield just for it's heritage value? Being an owner, I used to think they were 'the bomb!' till I actually found some great bikes here.

If you are just after a nice restoration project, grab a Kawasaki Z1000.

Tbh, buying an Enfield and bringing it over isn't really worth it. :\

        • fair enough, after calculating your figures i think its wise to buy from here on bargarin lol..
i will check other models as well, i have bike registered on my name overseas.

        • @sajju:
So when are you buying my bike? :P
Buy it quick so I can buy the Rocket 3 :)
