Help get English: Australia onto Android languages

Being a Nexus 5 user I've always struggled with using the language setting, keeping it to English:US means adding words in, using English:UK means having the pound sign instead of the $ as the default currency.

That can change with this submitted feature request for the next version of android
https://code.google.com/p/android-developer-preview/issues/d…

Please help in bringing an Australian language keyboard by starring that feature request!!

    This has been acknowledged.

    • It hasn't been accepted yet.

  • I had to go through the long way of doing it instructions via Ausdroid…I'd really appreciate if it became a default option in stock Android, so I'm all for this.

  • I've been using Swype for a while, and a recent(-ish, maybe a year ago) update added the option of combined dictionaries. With en_US as primary and en_GB as secondary, I get a US keyboard layout with UK spellchecking.

It's not free, but if you already have Swype anyway then this might be a decent workaround.
