Williams-Sonoma Tea Towels $8.95/4-Pack (Was $24) - Free Shipping + Other Sale Items

181
SHIPFREEAUG

These are amazing quality tea towels. Two types and a variety of colours available. Williams Sonoma has opened in Australia (in NSW their flagship store is in Bondi with a new store opening in Chatswood Chase in September). This is local stock off their local website.

A bunch of other sale items on there as well - check out their Sale Items. Shipping usually $19.95 so this really is a bargain.

Hope this helps someone!

(edit: had the shipping coupon wrong :-)

Mmm, seems I was charged $21.90 but invoiced for the correct amount of $8.95. What gives.

Thanks OP, apart from the fact they don't take PO boxes this is a superb deal.

These tea towels are the same price and in my opinion less likely to show stains.

I couldn't check out with Chrome (Safari worked fine).

    • Do they shrink?

Only if it is cold water

why did i just buy a bunch of tea towels?

  • bought some, will use it to cover my bread while proofing !

  • Check your accounts! All my order info said $8.95 but they have charged my card $21.60!

    • Same…..

      • And same here.

        • mine says 8.95 with 0.00 shipping. total 8.95….
did you enter the free shipping code?

        • @alebox:

Yes, shipping code entered and it said the correct total but checking bank account it says the full price. Invoice also says correct price

        • @boogaloo:
I think I got overcharged as well. But I can't see the pre-authorisation online. It usually takes 3 days to show up on the net.

          Keep us posted.

  • I placed two orders, however cannot see what was charged as anz is delayed.. Don't want to spend $50 on tea towels!

    • I'm with Westpac, it's delayed too.

I get a instant email from visa for most of my purchases so I can see straight away.

I've sent an email will post back when I get a reply.

I just spoke to them at Customer Service and their story was that the shipping charge will show while the card transaction is 'pending' but will not be applied when the transaction is finalised. So, we will not be charged shipping when the charge is actually processed. Strange, I haven't come across a situation like that before. Guess I'll wait and see.

    • That's a better news.
Thanks for posting the update here.

Hi all - I have the same issue. I've just got off the phone with their customer service and can confirm the following:

    1. The payment system they use is a little backward :-)
    2. On placing the order, the system places a hold on the full amount (including shipping) - this will show as a pending charge on your credit card statement.
    3. Once your order ships, the actual charge will go through which will be without the shipping cost.
    4. If there are any issues with this please call customer service and they will do a manual refund - but this can only happen once the order ships - they have not actually received any payment until the order ships.

Contact details for customer enquiries (sounds like it goes through to USA - spoke to a very helpful and friendly woman with a strong US accent):
    Phone: Toll Free at 1800 231 380
    8:00am – 9:00pm AEST 7 days a week
    Email: [email protected]

The customer service lady did say they were working on fixing this and she wished it would happen sooner rather than later as it would "save an awaful lot of phone calls".

    • Thanks for the detail info.

  • Just hung up a customer service call with Williams Sonoma after almost 20 minutes talking. Interestingly, they sent me an order proof from their side showing shipping is included and I sent them a copy of the order proof received from them showing shipping charge is $0!

Customer Service has apologized for the situation and processed a refund of the overcharged amount back to my credit account…they did say it will take up to 5 business days.

    • btw, my call was initially picked up by a U.S customer service and then I was transferred to a local Australia reception to address my issue.

  • Any reason why it's marked as expired?
I just tried it and free shipping code still works and the cost of the towels are still $8.95, should I take the chance?

    • I have placed an order using code. I've ordered from West Elm before (same group) and found their customer service to be very good.

    • Hi Shibuya,

The website stated "free shipping until 17 August" - that message is no longer appearing on the site. I'm not sure I would risk it especially since others seem to have had issues with shipping charges included anyway.

      • Hi macfudge,
I put the order through and had just spoken to CS rep: Duane, he said the free shipping is still valid since that expiry date is in US time. But he did mention that I was charged shipping but will refund the $12.95 back to my CC in 4-5 days.

  • Received my tea towels just before, but still not sure how much they actually charged me…. Still waiting for the charge turn up on my online banking.

    • ditto. Nice towels, i think (I'm male and have no idea, but wife says they're good and should have bought more).

Checked my online banking today, they didn't overcharge me. Great deal OP. Tea towels are very good quality :)
