Tablet wont recognise NEW 2 amp charger

Can anyone give me an idea WTF is going on here?

I have multiple usb chargers lying around and all of them worked in my tablet including my one and only AU plug 2.1 amp one that was for something else (not this tablet)
Unfortunately I left it overseas so I purchased this yesterday.

For some reason my tablet will not see this and says its not charging, but all my other devices work off of it fine.
I swapped cables and powerpoints with no result and my tablet recognises and charges off of all other chargers same as before, but being 1amp or less obviously its a PITA.

Any suggestions as to why it wont see the HPM, its just power, why should it have an issue?

Weird in that the tablet says not charging when in settings and no charge lights or battery notification come on yet it does actually charge it fast like the old 2amp charger.

Only an issue on this one device - all others show charging.

  • Looks like it could be an issue with the tablet? Maybe take it back to bunnings and show them how it doesn't charge

  • just bit of a troubleshoot - what happens when the tablet is OFF and you plug in the charger? anything?

  • Yeah, nothing happens there either - that was the suggestion from the tablet manufacturer.

Plug an asus 1.5amp in and all lights and charge displays as normal
Plug in samsung 1amp and multiple different 0.7amp chargers and all lights and charge displays as normal
Plug in US pattern 2 amp and all lights and charge displays as normal

Ordered a US>AU travel charger for $1 on ebay, will piggyback and superglue I think
