  • If you're looking for an everyday saving account, I know HSBC does not charge monthly fee. They don't have many ATMs though, but they do let you withdraw 4 times a month at other bank's ATM for free.

  • Thanks cacbm! This might be the one for me as I don't withdraw more than 5/month but you know this account let you or other bank direct debit?

  • I think you get unlimited eftpos purchase, but better check their website or give them a call.

  • You can always do cash out with eftpos from Coles/Wollies for free. I always do that since my bank (Bank of Queensland) don't have many ATMs around.

  • Thanks all, I'll give them a call soon.

  • Try credit unions in general. They tend to have less fees than regular banks

  • HSBC Online Savings Account
    http://www.hsbc.com.au/1/2/personal/savings/online-account

    Pros:

    No monthly fee

5 free non-HSBC atm withdrawals per month

Unlimited HSBC atm withdrawals, EFTPOS, Direct Debit and Bank@Post.

    Cons:

Need $2000 to open account, but no onging balance requirements - just keep it in the positive ;-)

    No free branch withdrawals.

Little interest for balances below $5000.

  • Not sure where you are located, I use IMB. Very well covered throughout NSW (mostly Sydney and South). No account keeping fees etc. Only fees are on EFTPOS, but you can get one of those Visa Debt Cards (for free) and avoid those too!
