Sydney Lane Cove Tunnel speed cameras: where?

Does anyone know roughly where the speed cameras are in the Lane Cove Tunnel, both east and westbound?

I've been travelling back and forth from the M2 to North Shore (Pacific Hwy exit). Are there cameras in that section?

I've driven the tunnel plenty of times this year but today I caught myself doing around 83-84 without realising it for a short section of the tunnel. Kicking myself. I'm usually a hawk on my speedo… but sometimes the mind wanders :P

Cheers in advance!

  • It's usually just after the 4th 80km sign on both sides or keep an eye on the road where there is 4 black line sensors on the ground which calculates your speed and remember where it is.

Well most older and some current model cars are adjusted to travel 2-5km below the actual speed indicated on the speedometer, so you might likely won't get one.

NSW have changed the percentage of speed error to just 3%, so if your car is doing 83-84 you might get a ticket, but don't worry, if you have been a good driver for the last 10years or have never broken any road rules, a simple letter explaining yourself will most likely get you off.

If the above still fails, take it to court, fight it and they will dismiss your fine, because it will cost them more than you paying the fine, just keep changing the court dates just before your hearing. Works for me on my 8km over the limit.

    • lol mystery negged.

Cheers for the info re: black line sensors on the road. Hopefully I'll be okay - I was about mid-way through the tunnel when my speed crept up.
