Are there any sites better than Gumtree for cheap and cheerful use stuff

I really struggle to find what I am looking for on Gumtree and their ads upset my mobile experience - has anyone found anything better?

Try tradingpost.com.au What are you looking for?

  • Sympathy mate; Gumtree hard to find anything and results very patchy……..
What are you looking for - maybe I can suggest somewhere to look if I know what you're after

  • I am looking for a big cheap 2nd hand freezer to store all my Costco meat.

    • Check Gray's Online or eBay.
Ebay is easier to navigate than Gumtree. Sometimes if you're prepared to travel to pick up, you can get what you're looking for a very reasonable price because many other buyers just can't be bothered to travel.
Sometimes supermarkets have noticeboards where people can advertise stuff for sale. It's worth checking those boards if there are any in your area.
The other tack you can take is to place a "wanted to buy" ad on Gumtree. That way sellers will contact you directly. But sometimes the level of response is simply zilch. But the ad is free so nothing lost.
