Being a "Deals with Gold" deal i assume you need an Xbox Live account for the special. Maybe that's the difference?Anyone able to check this on their xbox directly rather than the website?

From someone who owns this, it's barely worth that price. Very disappointing effort. Load times are excessive and happen every time you get busted, as well as losing all your gained XP. Just too frustrating to be fun in the end.
As someone who owned and completed the game (both racer and cop) I agree. Very buggy too. That said, once you unlock a half decent car (as a racer) it becomes stupidly easy to earn XP, I was just driving in circles across a 6 lane highway and into a pit-stop to repair and reload. Repeat while crashing into police. Once I got to 1 million or so I would bank it at my garage. The AI is so dumb. Oh and the rubber banding is insane. If you are ahead they will magically catch up. If you are behind they will slow to a crawl and let you catch up, they even stopped once or twice for me.
The most frustrating thing would be that there is no pause. Being chased by the police and get a phone call? Thats bye bye to your XP then.
hot pursuit is 10x better than this i didnt like the game at all
