I was going to order one until I read the review… :(

  • I'm pretty sure I saw this today in Kmart Broadway for $199 - if this is the new city train for 2014.

Definitely a good price, but 30% off will come up for lego in aus stock at some point and you can get to a similar cost.

That said this price is for now and it's always been quite hard to find these in stores.

    • Nah, its always 20%

  • Thanks - my son has been eye balling this for a few months, I was thinking about getting it for Christmas. I wouldn't be holding out for sales locally, even if a 20-30% promo of this did occur locally, there are generally only one (or none) at each store, so be prepared to fight for it. Armchair ordering is so much better.

  • I just went to the final step of checkout just to test it. It says that the LEGO set would dispatch in 2-4 weeks and that is expected to arrive in early October.

  • The $199 people are seeing is a intro price ( I did think they were pricing errors but further queries have told us its just the intro at some larger stores). RRP is 229 and soon all stores will start moving back to that target is already back at rrp. I expect kmart and big w to go to rrp soon as well. The $142 deal is pretty good and even at a 20% sale it would be when they are at $229 RRP. Last month lego discontinued the old sets and this is around the same price they were retired at, so I cant see waiting and getting it cheaper. I would be very surprised if someone was able to buy this at retail locally for 140 in Australia. Maybe $160-$180 if your lucky and get clueless staff at the register. If you want a good review the go to a lego specific site try

Son only asked for a lego train on the weekend.

But holy moly - Takes 9 AAA batteries.
Maybe I should start taking notice of the Eneloop sales from now on.

  • For those who purchased this deal, has your credit card been charged yet?

    • Amazon charge when the item is shipped.

  • Got an email saying the train will arrive 2 weeks earlier than expected.

    • Same here. CC has been charged too.

  • Looks like this has sold out :(
