RRP of $59.99, that must be true. Everybody surely believes that price, especially ozbargainers

Considering how crazy everyone was going over a free lightning/micro USB cable worth $1 from Kogan, this is perfectly justified.

Free product is a free product.

Save $1.95 on a $20 item is slightly different..

Great price, now I have everything I need in life, so many bargains

  • 10 hours to charge battery :S

    • +1

How many times a day you shave enough to flatten a battery?

      • +1

How many days usage are you going to get out of that 1 charge? I guess that depends on how long it takes for you to get a proper shave which might be dependent on beard length and design/blade quality.

You would just have to make sure you charge it after every other use or so, otherwise you won't be able to shave when battery is flat all of a sudden. Can't use it with charging cord i think, would have to wait perhaps 17 mins to charge for 1 min usage. It doesn't look like battery is readily interchangeable which is a pity.

    • Just enough time to re-grow the beard and shave again.

      • but is the 45 mins enough time to trim the 10hr regrowth?

Hn should use this on all their overpriced items

Does anyone know if this can be used as a hair clipper?

    • +1

      well it does trim hair?

    • +3

I have been using this model on and off for about a year now. Been using various clippers before this over the years, and for trimming your beard or goatee this is the best I have used and recommend this model. In the manual it says it is designed for facial hair only, but as I like my hair trimmed short above my ears, it's too tempting to not follow the sideburns further North. Figured as long as you don't go overboard it couldn't hurt ( the trimmer I mean ).
The battery lasts surprisingly long, probably goes for at least 20 to 25 mins on a full charge. As I only use it two to three times a week, I go for a couple of weeks to a month before re-charging. Happy shaving :-)

    Beards
    Does anyone find them useful?

    • +44

Personally I look about 12 years old without mine, so I definitely find it useful in specific social contexts, to project some measure of cultivated wisdom.

I understand the natural aversion to beards though, given that so many of them today consist merely of rat-like pubic hairs growing in 360-degree directions and forming bizarre, antenna array-like patterns on the necks of 19-year old, basement-dwellers the world over.

A full, thick, devilishly-rugged beard is certainly not something every man is just capable of past a certain age; the same way a woman with a bountiful, gravitating-defying, perfectly-proportioned rack is not just every woman. If you have been blessed with these superior secondary-sexual characteristics, I find them worthy of display.

Also, older women (not too old) seem to gravitate towards me with a beard and I am definitely partial to some outrageous flirting with Mrs. Robinson types from time to time.

Studies show that men with beards are perceived by the opposite sex as smarter, more aggressive and older but not necessarily more attractive (heavy stubble seems to be the most attractive facial hair style for women). Depending on your circumstances that may just be what the doctor ordered.

Lastly, with all the Bieberites polluting the gene pool today with their smooth-faced, eternal pubescence and borderline gender-bending mannerisms, beards can also constitute an ideological statement too.

When I see a fellow bearded man with his face bristling with thick, masculine whiskers that look like strands of barbed wire, there is definitely a thought that runs through my mind, along the lines of, "If World War 3 broke out, I'd want that savage-looking, Neanderthal-bearded-ma'fcker in my foxhole." No homo, of course.

Then there's the ritual of maintaining the beard itself; it's strangely satisfying and borders on some kind of lost artistry.

Making a mistake with your trimmer or scissors feels like a grave sin, like you're a dishonorable Samurai who just fled from the battlefield because he shat himself; while that elation you get after perfectly trimming and fine-tuning your beard to perfection is like Michelangelo standing back to admire his finished sculpture.

  • Just me or anyone else had a chuckle at "cutie 4000"?

    • Please elaborate.

QT4000 is the same model as one of the Japanese sex-bots we have from my time.

If you're considering the QT4000 then it will pay to compare it to the QT4019 which is the same price at the Shaver Shop. From what I can tell:

    QT4000
    Length Settings: 1-10MM
Skin-friendly rounded tips for smooth skin contact
Rechargeable only. Up to 45 minutes of cordless power after 10 hours of charging.
    Detachable head for easy cleaning

    versus

    QT4019
    Length Settings: 1-18MM
Hardened Inox Steel self-sharpening blades (sharper than Titanium)
Corded and cordless use. Up to 30 minute cordless operation

The model matrix from Amazon's QT4000 listing does not include the QT4019.

    • Looks like the QT4019 is different because it has 9 increments (1 - 18mm), therefore 2mm increments, whereby the QT4000 is 1 - 10 (1mm increments). Assume the QT4000 would be beter for the stubble look, the 4019 OK for stubble, but better if youwant to clean your beard up. Am I correct in saying that?

    • I had the QT4019, excellent trimmer that lasted me a solid 3 years or so and on numerous travels. Upgraded to the one with an inbuilt vacuum from Amazon which is absolutely brilliant.

  • I just bought one from Hobart store. Had around 8 still in stock.

i did not pursue it as i did not feel the service so far warranted further reliance on HN
a poor experience and a waste of time.
