If you need to claim warranty, do you need to ship it back to the US ?

Yes, unfortunately ASUS AU do not honour the International Warranty.

        So effectively, no warranty.

There is a warranty. Just not useful in Australia. I think one can make use of the warranty in Europe - as well as the USA of course.

    • Yes, you would need to ship it back to the US. Amazon support would be able to provide further instructions.

an international warranty that doesn't include AU isn't an international warranty is it?

I've bought ASUS from USA a couple of years ago and required warranty service. The only difference was I had to pay freight to/from Sydney, for local purchases they pay the freight.
I'm not sure that still applies, but ASUS have always in the past honoured international warranties in Australia.

A year ago or so ago my partner's transformer tablet had to go back to ASUS AU for a warranty claim. They arranged pick up and delivery after repair to our regional country address. Four out of five stars to ASUS. They can't have five stars because the thing shouldn't have stopped in the first place :-)

  • The listing indicates it does not ship to Australia - only the 50 states in US. How to arrange shipping/delivery out of US?

      Did you sign-in?

It ships to me - "This item ships to Vaucluse, Australia".

      • Thanks! Either did not sign in or did not choose the white colour last night:-)

Looks to be okay for me. Please also note that only the white 64GB model ships to Australia.
