I really like how well Ozbargain integrates with cashback sites. But I still nearly forgot to use it just now, and have a few times in the past.
I was wondering, could the mechanism used to forward to the deal (the "goto" link) be used to notify users if cashback applies?
What I mean is:
-> User clicks on bargain link
-> Windows shows message for 2 seconds, e.g. "Did you remember to use a cashback site?". Maybe with URL's and all.
-> Window loads bargain website. So the reminder is only there for a few seconds.
There are probably better ways to do this, but this is just an example.
Perhaps this behaviour can be optional. Users could mark as part of their profile whether they have memberships to certain cashback sites, and wish to be reminded to use them (and for how long, e.g. 2 seconds, 5 seconds). If no cashback applies to that site, no reminder is shown.
I would find this useful.
