    Technically speaking, definitely the UX303LA.

    • 1920x1080 IPS touch screen display versus a 1366x768 TFT non-touch display.

    • Slightly better CPU and iGPU

    • 8GB RAM versus 4GB

    • 128GB SSD versus 5400RPM 1TB HDD. Not even ten times the space makes up for the speed, in my eyes. Unless the space is a truly massive issue for you, get an external plus the 128GB SSD model.

It's not a close competition really.

  • Thanks ProspectiveDarkness , Thats what i was thinking.

By the way , Is there a Statice version for US ? Was wondering if there is any place where it is cheaper than BHP.

  • I'd normally recommend a Macbook Air, but this looks like a great deal - so long as you are happy to not have an Australian warranty.

  • I ordered the same laptop from the same store its being delivered this Friday, will update on how it is but for the specs and price it looks like a good deal. About the warranty I talked to an Asus rep before ordering they said it will be covered under 1yr global warranty but repairs and parts from overseas means it can take longer to be repaired.

    • Good . Let us know .

I m getting a Dell laptop from company i m contracting for , So will wait now.
By the way this comes out to be just over AUD$1000 if u include shipping , Would there be any custom duty on this ?

The laptop was delivered today and I have been playing around with it for a couple of hours. The Laptop by all means is beautiful and amazing to use the keyboard and touch pad are great the backlight is a welcome feature. It's very fast and zippy and no lag. The touch screen interface is seamless in windows and the full HD display is amazing and crystal clear. My only gripe so far is the edge of the laptop is sharp and cuts into my wrist while typing but other than that its an amazing device feather light and really thin. Also beware if ordering from B&H and using UPS they are crap, they delivered on time but left my laptop at the front door when one was there. There was no duty charged on my laptop in total with shipping it was $1025 AUD

  • The landscape is a bit different in March 2015, there is an Intel 5th Gen model out. The 303LA Touch i5 5200U 8GB/256SSD is selling about AU$1500. The UX32LA about AU$850 and the UX303LA about $1000, these are non-touch and have 4GB/1TB. So the question remains is the FHD touch function, the extra 4GB and 256SSD worth paying an extra $600 or so. I doubt the performance is significantly different.
