Apple price match

I have a $75 voucher to spend at the apple store. My daughter wants an ipad mini and the best price I can find for a legitimate price match is Officeworks for $298. She is happy with the first gen but I am wondering if I should wait and see if they are cheaper once the new ipad mini comes out. Also does anyone know of any cheaper deals that apple will price match?

A staff member at Apple Chermside told me a year ago that, if they price match, Apple will not reduce by the advertised price more than 10%. Apple have refurbished iPad Minis for $299, so that would be an option to use the voucher if Apple refuse to price match. http://goo.gl/fZgLN

    • Oh that is interesting, I assumed that they priced matched to the price as long as it is a legit dealer

It's worth noting that the refurbished units have the same warranty and support as the new units. I've never had any issues with purchasing Apple refurbished. And in the case that you were to have an issue, you would be treated exactly the same as if you bought a brand new unit. The only big difference is that it comes in plain packaging (so that people don't try and sell it off as a new unit). They come with new accessories (charging cable, power plug earphones etc).

You can also purchase Apple Care, just like a new retail unit.

    • I'm just wondering if the refurbished models look any different from a new one (i.e. scratches).
