New To Site, Couple of Questions and Thoughts Please

As I am new here, I have posted a deal for 7 days and I found it was really hot at the start and then it dies down, is this normal?

Is it better to do shorter offers or long in your experience?

To keep the conversations going do you all keep interacting with the comments?

I don't want to do the wrong thing therefore whatever you can suggest to get my deals out there would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Regards Geoff

Just offer great value bargains and it'll become popular by itself.

  • So true Mustresistpurchases, well I am happy with the popularity of my deal so far so we will see what happens.

    • The most any of your deals received was +5 votes, your a store rep also, this to me feels like your trying to replug your deals by a forum post.

  • not at all Cypher67, its only a very small business so to me 5+ votes is great

… it was really hot at the start and then it dies down, is this normal?

A deal is usually only "hot" when it gets to the front page within 18-24 hours. If it cannot get enough votes on the front page, it would get bumped to 2nd/3rd page on the New Deals page after a few hours. So yes, you usually won't get many clicks and views on your deals after 24 hours.

Is it better to do shorter offers or long in your experience?

A good bargain, doesn't matter whether it's short or long. However remember most clicks and views come within the first 24 hours (if it's hot), or maybe just 3-4 hours (if it's not that popular).

To keep the conversations going do you all keep interacting with the comments?

Most definitely. That's why we force Store Reps to subscribe to comments on the deals they post so they can come back to answer questions, provide support, etc.

so they can come back to answer questions, provide support, etc.

This will pretty much make or break a store rep on this site. Whether they bother to reply is the minimum. Dealing with issues and questions in a proper fashion will boost your appeal.

  • Tough crowd on here, need to amazing bargains to hold the collective attention for longer than it takes to get bumped off the 'New Deals' page.

Geoffw.. regardless on the number or +'s or comments on here did your site show increased traffic and sales as a result.

It's all pretty basic… the product has to be one that people want to buy and be cheaper than usual sources to get that "bargain" status. Miss on either of those and don't expect too much action.
