Only Nintendo could price the same game on separate systems at a different price (and as a further insult not enabling cross buy or a 50% discount as "compensation"). Instead they release new hardware which still doesn't fix the account and online issues.

Btw for Wii U vs 3DS version always you should buy the Wii U version if you have a Wii U Premium to take advantage of the bonus credits. So many people don't know about this :( https://p.nintendo.net/

take advantage of the bonus credits.

and do what with the credits ???

      • 500 credits give you an AUD $7 eshop voucher. Spend that on the eshop.

        • +1

Yep, great reward system, so far used 3 vouchers from that program.

    • abc, you champ. I had totally forgotten about the bonus credits. Just checked and I've got $14 worth just sitting there. Thanks heaps!

  • +3

Aint much cheaper than physical copies. Maybe a way for Nintendo to keep retailers happy.

    • Retailers have more incentive to discount games over time than online store fronts, i.e they need to make shelf or warehouse space for other physical goods.

  • +13

Man I wish they would upgrade their bloody eshop! It's such an embarassment

  • +1

Link's Awakening is easily worth the 5.25, but gotta wonder why the Gammeboy games are not on WiiU

    • And 64 and Gamecube.

      • AND THE VIRTUAL BOY! MAN I SURE FEEL RIPPED THAT THERE ARE NO VIRTUALBOY GAMES ON THE WII-U!!!!!

I already apologize for the caps and burning sarcasm.

  • +3

Nah i dont think i'll ever buy games off the e-shop until nintendo move with the times.

  • +1

Sorry guys, I just checked the eShop myself. Sale isn't starting until Thursday.

    • Throw that up as a comment in description

    • +1

I sure hope you mean 'dig the old NES out of the closet.'

      • Maybe he thinks Nintendo consoles are coin operated. </sarcasm>

        • +3

This is the point where you say 'thank you sir, may I have another?'

    • Wasn't aware that if a negative vote gets more than 5 negs it gets revoked. Neat.

    • +7

Gloating about pirating games is like telling other people you date a blow up doll. Pretty sure you're happy but we don't really want or need to know.

  • Minish Cap is Wii U virtual console. Thanks for updating.

$53.30 for wind waker HD ? Pfft. Good thing I chose to get that free with Mario Kart 8.

    • High five, me too.

  • +5

Yeesh. When you're used to Steam sale prices these seem eye wateringly expensive for old games

    • +1

Can't do much about that unfortunately…games are region locked, and Ninty games rarely ever get the kind of discounts PC games do…if they do, it's on clearance only.

      • PC games rarely get discounts like that. It is steam that goes that low.

        • +1

GoG and Amazon disagrees with you.

    Boring!

  • These are all still way too expensive, Nintendo >:(

  • For comparison, here's a sale they had on the US estore a couple months ago:

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD — $34.99 (original price: $49.99)
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS — $27.99 (original price: $39.99)
The Legend of Zelda (Wii U or 3DS) — $3.49 (original price: $4.99)

Yes, our Wind Waker HD sale price is still more than the US' normal price.

I haven't bought a Wii U yet but I'm tempted to buy a US version with all this stupid region lock stuff. But my US 3DS turned into a nightmare trying to deal with Nintendo US after it died.

    Horrible anti-consumer company. :(

    • There's rumours that the "New" 3DS is gonna be region free. Here's hoping…

      • Though that would be the one thing to make me buy it ahead of a new Zelda game, i really doubt it. :(

      • I dont think that will happen sadly :(. I will buy one if they make it region free though :p

  • Sweet, gonna get OoT 3DS, thanks mate!

  • Hard copy has resale value

    • +1

Plus I like to look at my full game cupboard and go "Look at all these things I own!"

      • Hard copy> digital

        Especially with Nintendo's account system.

  • When I looked on the eshop the price for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D was $49. Why am I not seeing the price listed here?

  • On my 3DS Ocarina of Time comes up as $46.xx.. Not exactly $39.99?

    • I guess Vooks screwed up the prices initially (before they got corrected)…a lesson to me not to always trust what I read. I'll fix it up.

  • Are The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages much different? Is it worth getting both?

    • I read that they are different. One follows on from the other, its like a 2 part game.

      • they are some of the best in the series. Sad its not on wiiU
