Free personal finance/budget tools

Looking for something like wwws.mint.com that works in Australia. Can be web-based or desktop and should be free. Any suggestions? What about GnuCash?

Cheers!

    ANZ Money Manager.
You don't need an ANZ account.

    • anz may suck, but their money manager is really cool.

I know you want free, but seriously take a look at You Need A Budget. http://www.youneedabudget.com/ or http://store.steampowered.com/app/227320/

There is a free 34 day trial. $60 to buy direct from them at normal price but you can sometimes get it cheaper through Steam sales which is where I bought it. Set it up so the database is stored in a Dropbox account, have it installed on multiple computers, and the mobile app works flawlessly.

And once you understand the concepts of how they approach budgeting it works brilliantly. Their training material is very very good as well.

I love YNAB, but Pocketbook is an australian Mint-like service that seems to work out ok.

    • Pocketbook is amazing, although it's more about keeping track of your spending than being a proper accounting tool.

  • google an older version of ynab for free ;) lol or just buy it. well worth the $60

  • You can try mobile app "Loans Calculator For Australia". It works really fine as well absolutely free to download and use. I'm also using the same and making all the financial related calculations within minutes. I hope you will like it..

  • For a free cloud-based solution you could give Wave Apps a try. It has a business side and a personal side (I use both) but you could use it without going into the business section just fine.

  • I use this to keep track of my spending:
