  • Usually the first wireless headphones that come to mind for me are the RS 120 and the RS170.

    The RS120 is roughly $179 on headphones.com.au and minidisc.com.au

The RS170 seems to be the next level up and has some added features. These cost $249 from minidisc.

Both those sites have free shipping i think.

  • I have the Rs170 they are wild, the Rs160 is good too

  • What do you intend to use them for? Console gaming, movies, tv shows, news, etc.
    Do you have a budget?

  • Tv shows and movies only. About $120 to spend.

    Thanks

    • Apologies speedy mod! That was a link from staticice, not me trying to scam some referral dollars.
My suggestion was that the RS120 recommended above was probably a pretty good choice. Can be bought for $109 delivered

  • What's decent cheap option?

  • We have two RS180s and love them - super comfortable, great sound
Range in our house is around 20m through multiple walls.
In open air I get about 30m. (I wore them outside while I was oiling the deck - amazing the uses you find for these things when you have them)

  • Can anyone tell me, does the receiver have to be connected to the TV? Also, would these wireless headphones work on a LCD TV that is around 7-8 years old?

  • I love my RS-120s. They're analogue for the wireless but it rarely is a problem - just the occasional buzz if it's slightly out of tune. Coexists fine with cordless phones, WiFi and Bluetooth. I can walk upstairs to the bedroom or down to the car on the street and still hear fine.

If your screen has either a headphone out plug or rca plugs (red and white audio, yellow video) you should be able to connect these. Most screens will have one of those options.

Alternately if your screen plugs into an amplifier via HDMI etc you can probably plug them into the amp. It is unlikely that your screen would have this and not the first two options however.
