I noticed this service the other day. Might be useful if you see a bargain at www.bigw.com.au but you don't want to pay postage, there isn't a BigW close by, and there is a participating Woolies nearby. $40 minimum for C&C applies.

Currently there are only a few supermarkets in the service but more are planned. There's even one Gold Coast location.
I guess it makes sense where there is no bigW store nearby, or also for after hours pickup as Woolies is open longer.
I agree - this is a good idea.
Of course it might just be another nail in Australia Post's coffin.
How they can handle the bulk of parcel deliveries in an internet shopping boom, charge the outrageous prices they do, and still go backwards is amazing!
Their losses came from letter business. Their parcel business is fine. You might say that this is subsidising letters. Not surprising that letters, like newspapers, are dying given that everything is going electronic. Now I only check my mailbox every two or three days since practically all statements are delivered electronically.
This is great I hope they expand, especially to regional centres.
