  • pardon my ignorrance.. can infant nappies be used for both girl or boy?
baby on the way.. havent started buying these items so dont know… Is this a good deal or something that comes up every now and then?
    Existing parents any thoughts? TIA

      Unisex.

Even the Huggies boys/girls nappies are the same except for the colour.

It's a good deal, but not exceptional. I'd prob stock up 3-4 boxes in each size, except for newborns where they grow out it very quickly.

I still have rainchecks I haven't used for the $6 Babylove nappies (32-36 size pack). I have about 10 months left to redeem.

Babylove seems reasonable, but Huggies is still better for overnight.

      • Thanks JB1 really appreciate it…

Newborn (green) nappies are unisex. However the crawler/toddler/walker/etc nappies (blue/pink) are designed for the appropriate sex —> boys nappies have the absorbancy section more to the front than then girls

        • Thanks for the info.

When I compare them, they look and feel the same. I'll have a closer look.

Currently using the boys one on my girl as he's grown out of them and I'm not going to toss them out.

        • +1

@JB1: Yeah, I don't think there's a huge difference. Just on the Huggies pack it describes the absorbancy layer location. Much of a muchness

  • I didn't get charged delivery and arranged for mine for tommorow between 4pm-7pm

  • They are unisex and at $19.50 that's fairly cheap. If you are expecting it would be a good idea to get a couple boxes for newborn

    • thanks maheroz.. :)

  • Thanks OP for the price of the babylove boxes! just in time for my nappy run.

  • Thanks. Stocked up on nappies too.

  • thanks - got the nappies !!

Coles currently has Huggies on sale for 40% off. They are much better than BabyLove!

    • +4

Not really, BabyLove is softer than Huggies.

      • +3

I agree. We definitely prefer Babylove.

        • +2

I prefer Huggies (but use both), I find that the Babylove much bigger in size, but thinner.

When Babylove gets very wet, you can see and feel the crystals sliding around. The huggies seem to draw the moisture out very evenly.

We use Babylove at home and during the day as we try to change it before it gets too wet. Overnight or going out, Huggies for sure.

          This!

      • umm, interesting comment - I might buy a small pack and test it out

I got mine order in for free delivery tomorrow morning. Thx OP.

Babylove is far better than huggies!!

  • Thanks op got free delivery too

  • The code doesn't work here.

    Not trolling.

I'm curious to know why some OzBargainers prefer Babylove to Huggies? Every parent I know personally prefers Huggies.

Price aside, I think Huggies is a much better nappy.

As I mentioned earlier- When Babylove gets very wet, you can see and feel the crystals sliding around. The huggies seem to draw the moisture out very evenly so it doesn't leak.

    • +1 for huggies

    • Price aside, I think Huggies is a much better nappy.

      Agreed.

Objective testing (Choice magazine, IIRC) also had Huggies well ahead in all areas tested…CBB finding the link, google should pick it up easy enough for those interested.

    • bargainers only care about the price. :)

      +1 Babylove

      Doesn't leak like Huggies.

    • The best nappies I reckon are Coles Comfy Bots - only $11 for a pack of 44 (toddler size)

    • I actually found Huggies would often leak and have since gone back to the Aldi ones (Mamia) for my kids. It wasn't really a problem for my younger one (daughter was less than 7 months old at the time) but it was for my oldest (2 year old boy). He'd wake up with wet pants quite often (like 4 times a week).

I got some samples of Woolworths' Once Upon a Time nappies and have found them to be quite good also. Their wipes were actually quite good as well, and can be a bargain if you find them on sale.

      • Yep the Once Upon A Time wipes are great. No rashes, and great when you find them on sale for half price.

    • Our experience was that Huggies did not prevent leaks as well as the BabyLove DriWave nappies. Since starting to use BabyLove, we havent looked back.

  • Thanks OP.
Code worked for me for a free delivery.
delivery fee appeared on checkout screen as being applied however total amount contained $0 delivery fee.

  • Thanks OP. Got 2 x nappies and 4 x s-26 :D

  • Get free samples from every brand nappy company and they will send you up to 5 samples. I liked baby love but the band isn't as elasticised as huggies, you can smell urine alot, it also doesn't draw moisture away from skin and they always leaked poop on sides or up back. Huggies are a bit more expensive but go on sale at IGA for $26 every 2-3 months. I've never met a person who liked baby love, I think parents just say they like them from the TV ads and they are cheaper. Not worth the hassle.

  • babylove dry waves is better then huggies , aldi ones, snugglers and all. Huggies looks full with urine more quickly then babylove .

  • There is currently a 10 for $10 sale on Heinz baby food (110g jars).

Just a heads up, but I noticed a Heinz baby food sale sign with the date starting on the 9th. This is for their pouched foods (120g) and 170g jars. I believe it'll be 4 for $6.

  • Thanks, got 2 boxes of babylove nappies to collect this afternoon, one infant 3-8kg and one 12-17kg size.
(I normally use cloth nappies 24/7 until they are dry during the day, then move on to just one disposable overnight until dry at night. 1 box of 96 will do just to get through the meconium phase so the cloth nappies aren't ruined by it.)
It wouldn't let me combine 2 types of nappies (I wanted the infant nappies but nappy pants in the larger size so the 3 year old can go to the toilet if she wakes in the night but has the nappy pants as backup if not). Nappies and nappy pants are separate offers and discount wasn't applied with 1 of each.

  • Thanks, Only ordered just over $40 worth of baby food and entered code GOLDBIG4 and got free delivery although a message came up saying it wasn't valid?(saved $11). This is great!

  • Thanks OP. Just ordered nappies. Also I got $15 more off by using this code SAVE15W10 at checkout. You need to spend $150 or more to get further $15. Valid until 9 Sept 2014.

  • Hi amsut1,
