Things got out of hand in the other post, so keep to bubbly discussions on Sodastream! Look Scarlett and Pepsi vs Coke.

  • How big is the gas cylinder? I need to replace mine but as stupid as it seems I think buying this would be cheaper.

      I believe 40L

    • Can't you get a 40L refill at Harvey Norman for about $13 if you exchange a used bottle? Assuming you have a HN nearby.

        • I just checked HN and when I tried to find a HN that has the 40L bottle can't find any place that stocks them. However there are plenty of HN with the 60L refills. When you check the Sodastream AU site there is no mention of 40L refills. They only detail the 100L or 60L refills on their site. Does this mean these clearance ones with 40L bottle will be no good b/c you won't have any place that can give you a 40L refill swap? Might mean you will need to buy a new 60L bottle to take advantage of the refill.

    • $51.95 spare 60L cylinder from HN. I don't need a second sodastream maker but a spare cylinder(even if it's 40L) is always handy to have plus you get 4 extra bottles!

      • Precisely why I got it too. I stupidly got the Jet non-Value pack from TGG on Saturday for $49 after the 15% sale on Thursday.

These make mojito's & GnT enjoyable!

    Consumer ALERT
SodaStream profits from the exploitation of an occupied, impoverished and captive labour force in an illegal settlement on stolen Palestinian land.
Why Boycott SodaStream? (CodePink) — http://www.codepink4peace.org/section.php?id=470

    Truth in Labelling ALERT
SodaStream is NOT "Made in Israel" — its main production facility is in Mishor Edomin, an illegal settlement in the Israeli occupied West Bank.

    Unethical Product ALERT
Consumers have the right to be informed about unethical businesses profiting from human exploitation and misery, land and resource theft, and war profiteering.

Australian consumers are rightly concerned about products produced by unethical businesses, why should OzBargain shoppers be any different?
Once informed, OzBargainers can make up their own minds on whether to purchase a product or not.

thanks for that info it really helped me make up my mind

thanks OP just bought 2 from my local target, still plenty more in stock if anyone else is looking to buy multiples

Thanks for that info 1bug. I won't support a terrorist state like Israel. It starts by boycotting one product at a time.

  • Is this deal for all Targets? Was in my local earlier and looked for this and no special. Staff had no idea either. The only thing they did have was the model up from the Jet for $79 due to it having no syrups because they had expired.

  • I can't bring myself to buy stuff that is made in Israeli government subsidised factories in occupied Palestine. I can't think of a good reason these factories are built there, nor why the Israeli government subsidised them except to colonise the land, use its resources (including the desperate workers) and make it harder to have a peaceful 2 state solution. They could just have easily built them in pre 1967 borders if they wanted to.

Israel is a light in a Middle East of Islamic darkness

"Israel is a light in a Middle East of Islamic darkness"

What a racist thing to say. They also said the same thing about Apartheid South Africa and its place within the "dark continent".

except religion is not a race….. so try and grow some common sense

        • Religious bigotry is a form of racism (just like anti-semitism = racism).

        • Here's a hypothetical extending from the logic of your post, nosdan. If I say Jews are darkness incarnate—because of their religion, not because of their race—then this would be okay because I'm targetting their religion, not their race, right? Good logic you got there.

          @cysp:

Racism consists of both prejudice and discrimination based in social perceptions of biological differences between peoples.

religion is not biology, its a ridiculous belief in a magical tooth fairy that lives in the clouds…

PS, the world also isnt flat, we have also worked that out since the dark days of old but i guess no one has told you about that little "fact" either?

        • @nosdan: I know what racism is. The substance of hating people for their race and hating people for their religion is one and the same. They are both unified by prejudice and discrimination. Again, I ask my question, which you avoided by some tangential crap. If I am prejudiced against Jews—because of their religion, not because of their race—then by your logic this would be okay because I'm targeting their religion, not their race, right?

  • Jet value pack is the standard $79 price at Broadmeadows store.

  • Just grabbed the last one from my local Target, thanks for the heads up.
