Thoughts of Destiny (game)?

I Received today my copy from dicksmith ( 50$ for the ps4 version) and so far finished 5 missions/ multiplayer matches. What are your thoughts of the game so far? :)

  • I've enjoyed the world and what not but hoping for more, the find baddies and kill thing gets old real quick unless the Halo story like motivation really gets into it. Upgrading and all that is cool but Diablo does an amazing job of that also..

I'm only Level 10 story wise but multiplayer is kind of out of balance a bit, maybe it's just the servers and people available but I'm not a huge fan right now.. For $45 bucks I'm not complaining, but not sure about the urge for longevity in this one. I'm kind of glad because so many other great games are releasing before Christmas so like to see them succeed to.. Thank Dick for bringing us good games at great prices!

What I can't wrap my head around is 500 million to create this though, I'd like to see comparisons to other games, my fiance even asked last night, so they spent 500 million on this, what they spend on GTA 5?.. Ultimately which I enjoyed a lot more again didn't like multiplayer - the only multiplayer I've hammered is COD here and there and Payday 2, which if you get past the apparent simplicity is a great team game, can't wait for Battlefield Hardline! And Fifa 15, And Forza 2, And the Crew, And crap I need some sun…

  • I think the 500mill also included the massive amount of marketing being thrown at it.
For me, it's ok to kill time, thats about it. Some stuff borderlands did better, the fact that leveling up and putting points into things made a difference there, less so in destiny. Also as far as story, i feel like its non existant. Sure there's background lore i guess you can read up on, but when compared to halo and how it forces story at you whilst killing enemies, its lacking.

And, like all games, play with friends to increase fun.

    • This is exactly why I never bought this game, after playing the Alpha/Beta I decided it was shallow and I would definitely be better off playing games I already had and others that were coming that interested me more.

Can't wait to see what Gearbox do with Borderlands 3 on the new generation.

      • If you played the Beta, it's exactly the same. I was hoping that perhaps they were holding back on features to wow us in the full version, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Plus there's the usual mmo promise of "the game starts at max level"

  • The storyline is not very compelling but I wasn't expecting much. The gameplay is pretty solid but it's definitely not as engaging as a lot of other games which I can play for 8 hours straight. Playing with friends is what makes it truly enjoyable but after a few hours I've got better things to do. Overall it's a fun game to play with friends but nothing groundbreaking.
