  • Good buy, just see this in the email on this morning but forgot to post the deal, cheaper than amazon and free shipping too. But only concern is they are using USB for headphone out so that mean only compatible with TRITTON headphone cant use on any of my AD700 and m50 or dt770 pro ;(. Anyway bought one and +++ for this deal.

  • God I already have a PS Gold headset for my PS4….are these Trittons great?

  • +4

cheeky maybe but would we get 15% off this deal if we waited till Sunday ?

    • Oh right damn it, man…. just bought one lolzzzz well save it for another buy then.

    • +1

Just got them with the 15% off. Thanks for the idea Bennobee

  • I already have Cosair HS40 would these be much better?

  • Apparently these are the same as the Gears of War 3 Xbox360 headset that came out a few years ago

I have the Gears headset, but as far as I could tell, they wouldn't work on my PS4

Anyone know if I can make them work on my PS4? Save me from buying a new headset

    • Description says it is compatible with ps4. Can you give us a quick review on yours, if they're the same as this one? Worth the $99?

      • Yeah they're a great headset, I paid about $175 I think about 3-4 years ago and they're still working

Good noise cancellation with the over ear design.

    • For ps4 I'm not sure but can you check the sound system output and mess around with it like dts or dolby out or LCM or digital out. Because I'm got one ps3 and the way sound system they work not like x360 easier to use.
And for this triiton follow this tut to make it work on ps4 http://support.madcatz.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/444/0/…

  • Dammit, I just bought the Sony Gold headset, after procrastinating for weeks and looking at so many options. These aren't wireless though, are they? .. answer is no, and damn, that's a lot of wires and crap, I think I'll be happy with the Sony Gold headset.

  • I'm gonna wait till Sunday hopefully it don't sell out 15% off aswell win

  • Impulse purchase ftw.

    Thanks OP.

  • Alright can anyone give me the low down on gaming headsets? Are they just marketing ploy to suck up money (like many products in this time) by advertising 7.1 and will audio quality differ that much from 40mm drivers or something around ~$50?. As cool as they look I've seen mixed reviews for the build quality of the 720+ (some say breaking after 6-12 months). But if I'm not an audiophile I'm guessing it doesn't matter

Some stuff I've been reading recently but still not too sure:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-lust-envys-headphone-gam… (this one refers to the Tritton 720, not sure on the differences between the +)

Here is first-hand experience from someone who has purchased the Trittons from this particular deal:

    1. The Trittons themselves are built very well, at least, aesthetically, the exterior is made to last. The cords and parts provided are excellent, and the length of cable is generous to support a safe distance for gamers on consoles playing on big screens.

    2. Setup is an absolute pain if you don't know what you're doing. To save yourself the hassle make sure you have 7 SP1 or 8 installed. You will run into issues with this headset if you don't.

    3. The headphones themselves, I think, aren't actually surround sound, but rather simulate the experience by having smaller internal speakers. Will you notice the "7.1 difference"? Yes, you do - sounds which are meant for the background (keyboard tapping, people muttering in the back) are emulated as though they are background noises, same with foregrounded audio.

    4. The headsets produce noticeable white noise, irrespective of microphone jack insertion. You won't notice it if you're listening to audio or films, but it should be noted that it is audible and apparent in the absence of sound.

    5. The adjustable on-the-fly game settings and voice volume control simply refer to two nodes on the headset's mini controller, not the box itself. You can't customise any equalisers to your liking and you can't create audio profiles like other headsets

    6. There are no working drivers or dashboard software for Trittons that work, you can try the one provided on the MadCatz or Tritton which is ~150MB, but it won't work. You'll get to the second phase of the installation and it'll just go Japanese on you.

Is it a quality product? On the surface and performance-wise, yes. But it's not without it's faults.
