Enough with dupe DSE posts?

Hi all

I think the DSE posts are getting a little nuts; right now the top 4 posts are all showing different ways to use the same combination of the most recent $15 of $65 spend… Its a great deal, but limited to 300… can we just have 1 post for the coupon and different combos? I say whoever posts first stays; in this case the one that simply states the coupon code and details; otherwise we could have a thousand different options with every possible item that could be used…

  • Different posters.

I understand that different people are posting the deals; but it seems a little much to have show so many different posts for the one coupon?

Totally agree, it should be one deal post per coupon with specific items in the description. Eg. This post should be the description in the original post.

I think the only reason its not done this way is because some items which are a particularly good become buried in the post.

I think a huge part of this is people's desire to boost their upvote stats. As an example, a DS code I shared garnered 85 upvotes, but was reused extensively in new deals (w/ ~200+ cumulative upvotes) and edits to older deals (…irrelevant sidenote: someone tried selling this free code first).

This is perfectly within the rules at the moment provided the item isn't listed in the title, but I agree that sometimes there seems to be too many different DS posts. A possible option would be to implement a system like the "Take Suggestions from Commenters" feature in forum polls (example here), but to be honest for deals that don't attract pages of comments this just helps those too lazy to trawl through the comments.

Same with the 15% off eBay, 8 posts within 30 mins

    • Only another 36 hours to go. Based on that average, 16 per hour * 36 = 576 Ebay deals by tomorrow midnight :)

  • Oh yay, $10 off everything over $50. I'm thinking sweet I can get a cheap game…. oh wait. Exclusions: Anything you may possibly want from our store + more

  • Apparently the 'only valid to first 300 orders' thing is bogus. They just say that, but I'm not DSE so I wouldn't know.
