Is this deal possible? Trying to get a PS4/Xbox for under $300

Been looking at these great PS4 & Xbox bundles recently and so far have resisted because $500 is just that $100 or so over what I want to spend.

Is this deal possible (given some assumptions):

  1. Buy a $500 VISA card from eBay for $500 on Sunday. Less the 15% this will cost me $425.

  2. Through work I can get 10% off JB-HiFi gift cards. Buy a $500 JB gift card using my prepaid VISA card. This will cost $450, leaving me $50 on the prepaid VISA to spend on groceries.

  3. Buy bundle with JB gift card.

Now if my maths is correct, this means my actual expenditure of $425 minus the amount I have left on the card ($50), means I am getting the $500 console bundle for $375. The bundles include 2 games, which are worth roughly $50 each. Meaning I am getting the console itself for under $300.

Now this assumes that eBay has actual gift cards available this Sunday. And that I can still get JBHifi cards through work.

    Why would someone sell prepaid visa cards for exactly their value? When eBay fees are factored in, wouldn't they be losing money?

    You can't , terms and conditions say 15% discount is not available for gift cards/ vouchers….

    ps4 no, xbox yes. i think you can get xboxes for like $70 on ebay.

    Hmm another method I've thought of. Buy WISH cards 5% off via Entertainment Book (my Mum has one), and then by from Dick Smith and use my girlfriend's Mum's staff discount (she works for Woolies).

    If gift cards are exempt from eBay sale, probably impossible to use it get a good price on a console from I can see of their pricing.

    I have been looking for a good deal too. The $498 Xbox One bundle with Destiny and AC from JBHIFI seems to be the best deal at the moment, but I like the look of the white console coming out soon as well, and hopefully wont regret it if there is a price drop before christmas

        What does that even mean? The graphics on the bone and ps4 are absolutely identical. And the ps3 is still HD, just slightly pixellier. There's no pack available that says "Contain full HD graphics. Only for PS4".

        Before you put the code in, Destiny is 8-bit.

          independent tests show the PS4 has superior image quality to the xbox but you know that already
