  • I am very interested in buying this. Any good reviews, or is it worth it? Thanks

    • look on Amazon for reviews, there's about 2000 of em. very good shaver.

IMHO, several drawbacks comparing to Rotary Blades.
      1. Too much noise, like a tractor!
      2. Too much vibration, like a vibrator!
      3. Too much heat, like a heater!
      4. The clean station isn't that useful but waste of money. Replacing a $15 clean kit for at least every two month? Not worth it!

      • I have it and its great, all the stuff you listed comes with all electric shavers

      • ^then…Don't buy…simple

      • Interesting. Being an existing Braun/Panasonic user, one of the things that stood out about my first rotary (this Philips) was the noise and handle vibration being less harsh. In terms of heat, my Panasonics (ES8044 and ES8103S) are the worst.

N.B. I use both the foil and rotary shavers daily, as they have different strengths/weaknesses on different parts of my face, so don't have a set preference for any of them.

They are very good and bought mine last November (advertised on OZBargain). The blades are worn out - I used it every 2 days. It will cost up to $40 for a replacement. Note you will require to buy the cleaning kit which are about $10 - $15 on average. Mine lasted two months and I closed it with the supplied lid after every use.

  • Thanks, bought one. Amazon has majority positive reviews.

  • I mainly use the pop-up shaver attached to the back. I suspect the main shaver head wears out quite quickly and replacement parts are quite pricey so I'll probably look for a new one once these ones get worn out.
I do like how you can wash it under the tap though.

  • Thanks OP. Have been waiting to get one of these for several months now.

  • I got mine in Dec with the thought that I wanted a series 7, but may find a series 5 good enough (and a lot cheaper). If it wasn't I could take it back and trade up as they offer money back for 30 or 60 days, or at least they did back then.

It's now Sept, I use it every day and still very happy with it and certainly a step up from my previous shavers. With the cleaning station, it asks for a clean about once every 5-6 days, but I do it every 2 weeks or so and the original cleaning solution is still going now (I put the lid onto it once finished so it doesn't evaporate). But I see it is getting low so will probably pick some up cheap on ebay. But saying that, there is nothing stopping me from just manually cleaning it in water.

    At $85 I wouldn't be hesitating.

  • Hi all. I was initially thinking one of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001DNE3KQ?pc_redir=1410665787…

Anyone with some experience recommend one over the other?

  • Been using mine everyday since December.. no issues whatsoever - still a great shaver

  • Thanks - just bought one. Been looking at getting one of these for a while.

Just a quick note that for those concerned about the cost of the cleaning solution refills - which would be all of us, because this ozbargains - there are plenty of webpages and even a youtube video on DIY refills - basically 70% isopropyl "rubbing" alcohol plus a bit of lemon essential oil. Cheapest $/L isopropyl alcohol I found was a 5L bottle via ebay (can also use the rest for general purpose cleaning/disinfecting), which qualified for the 15% off; for essential oil got a 100ml bottle off ebay as well.

  • Anyone who has this have any idea how to oil the shaver head? It's starting to pull hair.

    • Isn't that due to the blades being worn (blunt)?

  • Where do I enter the discount code?

    Found it, all good.

Came to $84.15, not $85.15. This is ozbargain, that dollar counts!

    • not sure how I calculated to $85.15. But fixed it, thanks
