Agreed. Study hard so you can get a job then sit on Ozbargain all day like the rest of us… wait…

Every boss who is also managing the company / department purchases should be on OzBargain!
I spent a fair bit of time on Ozb at work yesterday. While I'll admit some fairly tenuous links with my role, the best moment was when a supervisor asked me whether I was sure there wasn't a cheaper price on item x… Leaned over, grabbed his kb, opened up OzB, checked, and said "Yep. Sure".
Pretty sure that's given me a grace period for the next week or so.
but i dont see a reason school banning OZB
Quite a lot of schools buy proxy and filtering software which isn't education specific, so its entirely plausible that this was not thought of in an educational context. A lot of the commercial packages come with a blacklist subscription service and it could just be that OzB's been recently listed.
Maybe you will be able to concentrate more in English class now.
This is a disgrace! OzBargain has taught more valuable life lessons than a school ever could, such as:
- Discounted meals from Domino's, HJ's and Macca's consititute a perfectly valid diet, especially if you hacked the menu to make a item cheaper.
- Never buy stuff from Dick Smith until Friday, the free shipping day. After all, discount codes are released every second day so don't fall for them.
- Never buy a book. There's likely to be a similar enough free Kindle eBook just around the corner.
- Buy Eneloops if they go on special. Don't ask why, just do it.
Hell, we even have a strict authoritarian in the form of jv around to make sure everybody follows the rules! Who needs school??
