COTD's $83 Seiki 24" FHD TV combo DVD player

ok i got mine today, big red box, threw it into the car, went to work, came home at night and set it up

the stand is a rectangular piece of plastic with a hole in the middle and there's no adjustment

removed the stand neck and bolted on a proper vesa gas stand

the tv isnt that good, the pic looks a bit posterised but 1,080i tv looks ok

SD isnt that impressive same as aldis and okano rubbish which i assume is a bad scaler

i hooked up a laptop and i got a lot of overscan at 1,080p but 720p was fine, text wasnt so hot though so i reckon you'll need to play with it a bit to get it to work well on a pc

hdmi 1,080p to my xbox is fine, in fact its the best use as a console display

2 hdmi is useful

it has headphone out, remote is good

the dvdplayer i dont care about

its an $149 tv that cost a mere $83, its fine but a brand name unit like my Panasonic would kill it everywhere

my kid likes it

  • I just received and set up the TV. Couple of points for reference:

    • TV arrived in its box, by itself, with no additional packing — which was fine.
    • Stand isn't adjustable as tony mentioned above and feels flimsy.
    • EPG and menus look quite good.
    • Sound is not great, but as expected.
    • Energy Rating is 4 out of 6 stars.

Overall, I'm very happy with it so far: it's definitely great value for the price.
