Love them, very freaky and well designed. Co-op in the 3rd one is brilliant, really different roles for each player too

      • Thanks!

great games ! first two are probably more single play horror theme orientated, third one was less scary more adventure fps, but like smoothy said, coop game play is well designed and very enjoyable. would def recommend you check em out where you can !

In shooting games, do you ever find yourself a bit disappointed? You want to run in guns blazing, but either you die, or its so easy it feels cheap, so inevetibally you find yourself hiding behind some rock and sniping the enemies off until its safe to proceed. Then when its safe you discover all the explosive gas cans around that you could have used in an awesome tactical maneuver, but you didn't because every time you stuck your neck out you got shot to shit.

Well, good news. Fear, especially number 3, gets around this with the slowdown ability. You can slow everything down to a snails pace, get a good look, and then run in with a reasonable chance. Backstabs become possible, flashbangs are now(partially) useful. Its so much fun. I've played through the single player 15 times already. Every time I uninstall it, 6 months later I get the urge to play again.

Definitely worth the price, but I'm not sure I'd play $15 for it, as I'm pretty sure its was $5 for all 3 several months ago, and it is a fairly old game now.

If you do get it, I would play number 3 first. The better graphics and faster pace make it easier to play, and storywise it never made much sense anyway, its sorta like the 4th resident evil game of the set. 1 and 2 are better for story, a few genuine scares, and more realistic action scenes, but I never found them much fun, and haven't replayed them since. Oh, and make sure you play it in the dark.

That collection is $7.99 USD on Bundle Stars at the moment: http://www.bundlestars.com/all-bundles/fear-bundle/

      • Thanks!

      • cheers for that!

    • The FEAR bundle (which includes DLC's) is cheaper at BundleStars - $7.99

And if you like to keep your sensitivity the same across different games (develop muscle memory), the FEAR series have been requested to be on the upcoming games list on MouseSensitivity

If you wish to play the multilayer component from the first series download FEAR Combat:

      http://fear-community.org/downloads/

      About F.E.A.R. Combat
On August 17, 2006, F.E.A.R.’s multiplayer component was retitled F.E.A.R. Combat and made available for free download.

During the next years, Monolith, Punkbuster, Sierra (Activision) and WBGames ended their support for the game. The Original page of the game stopped offering new CDKeys. This meant that new players could not play and led to a decline in the game.

With the FEAR Master Server Shut down by GameSpy on December 5, 2012, the game couldn’t find running servers, and servers couldn’t be run anymore.

      About the F.E.A.R. Community
Since 2012, a group of FEAR players and supporters started working in the fix of the most critical issues in the game, creating the FEAR Community. Their Server patch added the capacity to use New CDKeys and a Final Solution to Server Crash Attacks by Hackers. With the Master Server shutdown, we released (that same day: December 5, 2012) the FEAR Launcher as a workaround to find and connect to Servers, and 1 month later, the first FEAR patch, that Restored the Game Functionality to the original state, but this time with our own Master Server, instead GameSpy services.

    • Have only played 1 & 2. They were so-so. No genuine scares, despite reviews.
