Cheap Mobile Plan

Hey, I was wondering if you could help me find a mobile plan since the Vaya price increase. I only require roughly $100 of SMS, don't need phone calls and 150MB+ internet a month. The best plan I can find right now is Telechoice's $12.50 plan. Is there a cheaper alternative? Thanks.

  • just think $100 worth of SMS - is it for sms blast.
if it is, why not uses free sms to mobile from computer, like
    http://www.afreesms.com/intl/australia.

otherwise, check the other threads like https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/162286
    amaysim…..

the issue with the free sms site is that your number doesn't come up as the number the sms has been received from

Some guys just put a- From XYZ company. Before the actual message.

    • sent one sms from this site to my own phone 5 minutes ago, still waiting…
they probably have stored my phone number in their data base now.

For all round value and quality of service Amaysim is hard to beat. Whether it fits what you need is another thing.

  • That thread is great and all, but all the plans discussed are $20. I need something less than $10 or closeby. Cheers.

  • Maybe Yatango https://yatango.com.au/mobile/pricing/mobile

You can select 100TXT and 200MB data … costs $11

Another option is spintel … https://www.spintel.net.au/products/mobile more expensive at 18$ minimum … but scales up very nice in case you need more

    • $100 of texts does not equal to 100 texts though, texts are generally charged at a rate of about 30 cents so they need about 300 texts, which pushes up to $14 if they choose 200 texts or $17 if they choose 400 texts.

      • I personally read this as 100 txt not 100$ worth of text … (as you anyhow can't compare the $ figure). But when you really need a around 300 txt your calculation is correct … there should be better plans around.

In this case I would suggest to get messaging apps … no need for txt in most cases

  • I signed up to spintel last week. It takes about 3-4 days to get it set up. I ported my number over from Vodafone. So far the service is fine. No issues. Customer service seem fine also. The plans are really good value for money compared with other companies. Worth trying.
