One of the rare times when I see a gadget on ozbargain and feel absolutely no desire to buy it.

For $125 you can buy the whole desk. For the "monitor riser" isn't that what yellow pages are for?

    • That's a fair comment Scotty. This is a light weight alternative for people that don't have
space and would like to utilise their work area more effectively and with design and ergonomic consideration.

  • +1

The price is really exorbitant, even as a special. It is nice to see a new design approach in computer desk set-up, but the price does not justify the price. I almost thought this was designed as an Apple-esque ergonomic alternative?

    • This product has a multitude of design considerations and uses while preserving a natural posture while working. it's the only keyboard accessory endorsed by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA)

      Here are some benefits:
      * Stops aches and pains caused from twisting when writing to the side of the keyboard
      * Centres paper work in-line above the rear of the keyboard
      * Creates a stable, adjustable work surface - excellent for writing and reading with computer work
      * Creates more useable desk space
      * Allows access to the keyboard at all times
      * Comes with a non slip ruler / guideline with all models
      * Comes with paper ledges in two height sizes
      * Helps the user to focus by placing their work directly in front of them
      * Suitable for left and right hander's

I also posted a video in the comment section I would recommend viewing.

  • try a few google cardboards

  • I can get a decent full sized desk for that price, not a bloody monitor stand! LOL

  • Just like google cardboard, make one with cardboard.

Ugly, expensive and cheaper on ebay(I'm surprised there is people buying this)

      Hi GregFiona,
That link is our eBay store and the product listed is a MicroDesk compact.
      Matt

      • How does the compact model differ from the lightweight model Matt?

        • +1

          Hi Tal_Shiar,
Compact model is 430mm wide compared to 560mm on regular MicroDesk.

        • @BuyDirectOnline: Fair enough rep, - removed but still $4 off your regular price(your ebay lightweight sells for $129+free shipping) is hardly a bargain IMHO!

  • These were great when CRT monitors were normal, even a 32 inch LED/LCD monitor has a tiny foot print now.
I lose 8 cm off the edge of my desk and can use the room under that area anyway.
Cordless keyboard can be put anywhere and most desks have a keyboard slide anyway.

  • This seems incredibly expensive for what it is. Full computer desks are this price (which is what I thought it was at first).

    • Hi BTRaynes,
Compared to other sources online we are offering this product at the best possible price.
Follow the link below to more information about this product. I have to mention too that
there is a little bit of misconception around this product.

"The Good Use Microdesk was developed by physiotherapist Sarah Mahoney in 1998 after she saw a need to centralise paperwork above the keyboard and couldn't find any available products to achieve this. The additional working surface created by the Microdesk ensures that the user is kept in the correct 'neutral' posture while interacting with either paperwork, a calculator, a tablet or their smart-phone. The Microdesk is made in New Zealand and now sold in over 12 countries worldwide. To read reviews from many satisfied customers please visit our testimonials page."

  • funny in the pictures, you still need to have a desk for this "microdesk" lol

There seems to be a little bit of misconception about this product. Please watch this video that explains design consideration and product use.

+1 for the professionalism and effort. As an office-worker, I would love one though my work is tight so no luck with. I don't think I can justify the price for home-use! Thanks though…

      • +1 Thank you for your kind comment :)

http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/u-board-smart… I use one if these but looks like the price has gone up since I purchased one (on sale for $25) as others have said an alright concept but there are other cheaper more siatable items.

the problem here is that most of us don't understand that the above item is not only a monitor stand/rise but an ergonomic writing slope :)
