I have a Dropbox folder setup as an open network share from a Windows 7 server. It is accessed by 3 desktops, 1 laptop, 1 tablet, and 2 phones (Windows & Android devices).
For some reason random files have started duplicating themselves in the following manner - filename(1).docx, filename (1)(1).docx. The copies are then being synced with Dropbox.
Anyone heard of this, or know how I can troubleshoot?
What OS are the computers connecting to the server on?
If the file is being synced by the server to Dropbox, it might be checked out as in use. Any other program with it open (eg Word in this instance) might then be saving a copy just to be safe.
