EDIT: IT'S THE MISSUS.. I KNOW YOUR LOGIN DETAILS. *The Missus Ain't Cuttin' The Mustard, So New Bedroom TV Req'd - Advice?

Hi Guys,

I'm a bit of a gumby with tv's.. My (very) old telly in the bedroom just shat itself, so need another, preferably bracket/wall mounted. It's about 3 metres viewing distance away from me (if this is helpful info?). I don't have much to spend (~$200-$250), but is this enough of a budget for something with FF/REWIND/PAUSE live tv features - hd recording etc? I guess a 24" size would suit - doesn't have to be big necessarily, but whatever.. 1080p definitely required. What's the sweetspot telly I'm looking for? Can anyone suggest a stunner at that smallish size and budget, or am I gonna have to spend more? Any deals about??

Thanks In Anticipation.
UniQualz

Edit: I'm told I should go for deep blacks for good contrast, like in a Pioneer..

"Missus" Edit: Having read your subject line, Darling, this had better be a GOOD tv.

i doubt there is a point in getting a full HD at that size, as the difference b/w HD and full HD would be indiscernible. at that price you would probably have to look at some kogan tvs, they seem to have the features you need.

Pioneer exited the tv market a long time ago. LED is the go now.

Scrap the TV, spend the money on marriage or sex counselling

Especially given that if she sees the title of your post, you're going to need it. lol

      • i think he means to say his old TV isnt 'cutting the mustard'

if your missus isnt 'cutting the mustard' you replace her, not the tv

        • Haha.. eggcellent! Beautiful wife.. tv is a dud! Ta everyone - will check it all out!

  • I recently bought the Soniq 32" with DVD player from JB for my bedroom. I wouldn't recommend going any smaller than that. The picture is great and it can be wall mounted as well. The DVD player can easily be unlocked for all regions also.

Piss her off and buy the biggest that will fit, don't worry you can afford it now.

    • Size does matter.

  • Bahahahahaha uniqualz, you've been sprung. The money you'd planned on spending on a TV you'd better go buy something 'girly' instead, or at least 'as well as.' Or a gift voucher for anywhere of her choosing.

Way to go Mrs uniqualz. :)

  • Sh#t, she has my login details. Sorry missus! Feel more sorry for him.

  • I lol'd.

  • Haha.. How'd she do that? All good.. She still doesn't have my bank acct passcode.. Seinfeld: "The instructions implicitly say "DO NOT tell your passcode TO ANYONE!".. :-D

    • You never know. Good Luck!

  • New bedroom TV is probably irrelevant for you now - you'll have front row seats to the loungeroom TV while you sleep on the couch for at least the next week!
