Have been waiting for the holidays to come around in the hopes of finding a good deal on a Wii U. Have not seen anything cheap thus far though. Just want the basic 8gb console as I'll use an external hard drive for storage. Anyone have suggestions?

Yeah that's the best deal I could find too. It's crazy when you compare it to the Skylanders bundle Target had for $180.
If you can find a target that has some in stock they still scan in as $189 for the skylanders bundle

I'm probably going to offload my Wii if you're after a second hand one. Its a Mario Kart Premium one. Bought it because I remembered how awesome Mario Kart was, then remembered I'm in my late 30's now and its not as fun these days :)
Thanks but I mostly want a Wii U for the new Smash Bros. Not too many games on the Wii I'm keen on.
No worries. I was the same with Mario Kart. I was going to hold out for Smash Bros but I don't think its going to be the same. I got together with a bunch of mates to relive some Mario Kart memories, but we ended up playing one cup and getting bored. Its the only game that I bought with it. Got a little too excited :)
(I think OP mistook you for meaning you were selling your original Wii and not a Wii U. Best to clarify)
@FrankMcFuzz: And they did the same thing with the new 3DS and new 3DS XL. Wish they had thought of a better name.
Gonna be real confusing when people start thinking of it as a condition of the console, rather than the edition of the console itself. I can imagine EB Games selling preowned New 3DS's now. Nightmare.

It might also be worth checking out Kmart as well - though be sure to ask, because they may not have them on display (that was certainly my experience when I grabbed one of the Skylanders bundles from there).
Other places which might have some lurking around gathering dust are Big W and Good Guys, but there's been less recent reports from either of them.

Do jb hi fi price match games? If they do you would be able to get hyrule warriors/Mario 3d world for $47 by matching target and then using the 20% voucher we get for signing up to the music app.
I think they do. At least local stores. I don't have experience in this, because normally I'm asking other shops to price match JB lol.

Best I've seen currently is $398 @ Big W for the premium pack with Mario Kart 8.
Pretty bad compared to previous deals, but if you want one this weekend, I haven't found anything better
