In-car all-in-one Double Din nav/GPS/reverse camera/MP3 etc etc unit.

I'm looking to upgrade my head unit in my Toyota HiAce 2010 for the main reason of gps and reverse camera. I've had a look around, but can't seem to come up with many options.

I'm just not sure if the reverse cameras will work well on aftermarket units.

Seems Androids gps is the best, but doesn't look like many units support that.

I could buy the 2014 toyota factory head unit for $1400, but that just seems a crazy price! Pioneer have a unit with gps and reverse camera for about $900.

Finally, I've seen some mods to build a nexus 7 or similar into the car, but that looks like a lot of tweaking/work.

Does anyone have any other ideas? What am I missing?!? Just seems hard/costly when you can get a phone that will do all of this and more!

For the price it's excellent, but up against the $1400 factory option it's clearly not as flash.

It will do anything and everything you can think of, there's SO many functions for the price (though you will need to buy the associated reverse camera accessory separately). I use the CD, radio, Ipod, USB MP3, GPS and bluetooth and it does all of these adequately or better. Combined with some decent speakers and an underseat sub and the sound quality is great.

The screen is not particularly high resolution, you can watch DVD's or whatever on it but you wouldn't. The GPS is functional and easy to figure out but not as effortless and clever as something like the BMW iDrive or even the new Commodore factory nav.

They're made to fit into the factory DIN for individual car models, and it does this well. It also looks neat and tidy once installed, as in close to factory and not full of chrome and LED's and attractive to thieves.

In all, very good value for the price. It won't beat your phone for screen quality, but it will do everything you could want from a head unit.

  • I have an android 2DIN head unit. Overall it's pretty good but thing like bluetooth quality and radio reception are lacking a little compared to dedicated units like Pioneer or Sony. But at around $350 delivered i can't complain.

  • EONON. Had one before, was pretty damn good for it's price. Unless you are an audio perfectionist, it will tick all your boxes.
