Returning Items Purchased with AMEX Offer

Has anybody ever purchased items with an AMEX offer and then had to return something. I just purchased over $100 from iconic with my AMEX and qualify for $30 rebate. But I found that two of the items were not what I wanted - Dunlop volleys with fur.
So I have started the returns process. Now I realise that in doing so, they'll be crediting my AMEX card. Will AMEX want the $30 back, or will they even notice?

BTW - I hope I'm not inadvertently giving away clues to a scam, I wouldn't suggest anybody do this deliberately.

    Did the same with Dick Smith. Return / cancellation was processed. I got the credit, then the credit got reversed, but in my Amex account it said that I had redeemed the rebate on my CC even though it had been reversed. So, yes - they will notice and they will fix it up.

    just say you cancelled that card. i always try and return in on a different card ie savings visa debit card that way u dont loose your points and credits.

      I don't want to do anything deceptive. I've asked for store credit. To their credit (excuse the pun), iconic offer 110% credit and pay for return shipping.
