Masters Coupon / Discount Code for in-Store Use. What's YOUR Experience?

Is it just me that find it annoying to use the discount code In-Store at Masters?

Like the last 10% off (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/162610) I couldn't use it unless I have the original docket.
Even I showed it on my phone or printed on paper, the checkout chick refused to apply it because it's not the "original" docket.

How about the % off discount code during father's day or australia day which is printed prominently on the catalogue?
One day they ran out of the catalogue so I just showed the picture on my phone which I took days before, but they still refused to apply it because they still need the "original" cutout.

I then saw the barcode cutouts lying across the table so I asked why don't you just grab that one and scan it since the codes are the same anyway? Oh god you won't believe her reply: "No, you can't. You need to have the original because we can't reuse the coupon".

I was like, really, are you serious??
Can't reuse coupon cutout from your own catalogue??

I know some of you mentioned you can sneakily enter the code yourself on self-serve checkout, but that's not my point.
And while I can also just do Click & Collect, some store specific clearance items are not listed on the website.

If this is a genuine % offer, non-unique codes which works when entered on POS anyway, why does Masters make it so hard??

I must say, what a stupid policy Masters have there.

And yes, this is my real experience.

  • Never had the sorts of issues you say you have had using discount coupons at Masters.

  • +1

Masters really are inconsistent. Their store staff especially. I dont think Bunnings will have too much to worry about.

I ordered online and got 10% with another 5% with my trade card. (14.52%)

In store they say I can only have the 5% or 10%

Plus online I can buy thru cash rewards and get another 2% (never had to show the coupon when I picked up)

    Moral

Buy on line first then pick up.

Only issue is that they are slow when it comes to picking up…

If you need the coupon, go to woolies, buy something (can return later) and get the voucher on the bottom of the receipt.

    • we tried few times and they would not accept the trade card combined with the voucher. always same excuse, we can only use either or.

  • Can't reuse coupon cutout from your own catalogue??

So they printed individual catalogues for everyone to get a unique barcode? I think not!

  • I tried to use a photo a receipt i saw on here last week, they wouldn't accept it.

  • Can someone upload a receipt for so i can get 10% off by showing them my phone. Ta.
