Need new headset for PC

I need a new headset with mic for my PC.

Kids came around during school holidays and broke both my headsets. Looking for a comfortable headset with mic that is fairly durable. My budget is around $30.

My previous set was sennheiser pc151 which I thought was quite comfortable and well built but apparently not kid proof :P.

Edit:
Forgot to mention, I use this for playing games where I use teamspeak with my buddies to communicate so sound/mic quality doesn't have to be fantastic.

  • Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 are $30. Comfortable and cheap. Durable too.

  • See if you can find a logitech g230 on sale. I got mine from dicksmith with like 50% off, think it was close to that, maybe like 40? Then I think I got some digital surround sound software from razer, but most of the time I dont use it cos it makes music sound like shit.

  • Got the Turtle Beach Ear Force Z Seven when it was on sale - DON'T DO IT. I got it on a COTD sale for about $100 and it was still not worth it. It hisses when plugged into my computer and cuts of the really quiet parts in music/games/movies because it thinks it's background noise/static. I regret this very much. Half the time it won't even work through the unit that comes with it.
I've heard good things about the logitech's posted above.

  • I thought the G130 was cheaper at

But then I saw $5 shipping … for PICKUP.
or $23 if you want it delivered.
Wow how do you get away with charging $5 to pickup? Isn't there some law about hiding costs like this?

  • The other way to go I guess is ultra cheap making them effectively disposable and having like 10 of them around to replace. Anyone tried this pair. $3.20 seems TOO cheap for a headphones with mic though. Even $3.20 headphones seems to be pretty poor quality sound.

    • Yeah, they get sold here at Reject shops and asian $2 dollar shops, you can probably get it locally for around the same price. They are very uncomfortable and mic quality is probably terrible, just like the ones you see in seedy looking internet cafe's.

      For example, $2 per piece.

The branch at MSY Ultimo has a few of these lying around, nobody wants them so they put these out the front on the clearance basket. Have a look there.

    • Please get a decent mic for the sake of your online buddies lol.

  • I love my Plantronics gamecom headsets.

I have used 2 different ones, both are the most comfortable I have used. They are over ear, have a felt speaker pad, good mic quality and a long cable.

  • To be honest. Raise your budget and skip the cheap crap.
I just bought these a couple of weeks ago.

and theyve been amazing. Really comfy for hours and hours on end and fantastic sound. Mic is very clear also.

Ive had 2 30 to 40 pairs and theyve been painful to wear for long periods and the mics stopped working on both.
even better is if you pair it with a decent sound card.
