Affordable Formal/Semi-Formal Shirts

I need to throw away the grotty t-shirts I got away with wearing at University (thank you OZ Threadless promotions!) , and need to now dress like a corporate clone as more fitting to my circumstances in life.

What are some good shops that offer affordable, stylish clothing? I've looked at most of what the main Australian stored had to offer - and the affordable stuff is rubbish, while the expensive stuff isn't really that great.

I'm not interested in Brands if the quality and fit is right - I'm looking for both formal and semi-formal shirts, and hey, why not some informal shirts as well if you know of any :)

    The sheilas at the B&S will be awestruck by your fancy sewn-together city clothes.

    Cheap and good quality? Well check out your local thrift shop. I usually find cheap and good clothing for like $ 6. Real good

      Seconded.

      Also check garage sales in affluent suburbs, you'll often find unwanted brand name shirts and suits and the like for dirt cheap prices. Often see Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Ben Sherman, Country Road, Oxford etc.

    I always do well at Trade Secret - but we live in a Coastal area mainly filled with retirees…so there isn't a lot of competition for the good stuff that does come up. I'd imagine city stores would be pretty well picked over.

    Also pre-owned stuff on eBay/Gumtree is usually good and cheap. Just make sure you know your fit and size before buying.

    I got shirts from Just Jeans (DFO Homebush). Got 2 for $15 only. Thats only $7.5 per shirt/t-shirt

    The stock was quite a bit and included both formal and informal apparels.
