These ones don't have twin tuners and you'll need to add a USB hard-drive but they seem to be a pretty good bargain:

    $239 Topfield TBF-7120 @ Good Guys
$179 'Allure' @ Clive Peeters (possibly expired?)

I wrote in the comments that a work-around may be to use your tv's built-in tuner or keep a separate set top box, but of course there's some limitations including that you can't record two at once. However it could still be a good option as the price can be about half or less.

If you want one that uses an internal hard drive have a look at the Topfield TF7050HDRt currently on special at dse for $399, but again it doesn't have twin tuners.

    • Thank you! Will check them out.

  • Just spotted a twin tuner DGTEC with 320GB for $396 in the JB Hi-Fi catalogue. Have a look at http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/home-theatre/pvrs/dgtec-dg-pv…
