  • I would not concern this as a deal cause at this price you can find them almost everywhere online and that is started price, not reduced price like DJs.

    • Agreed.. did a quick search before I posted found its the normal price in online shops.

Considering some Ozbargainers wouldn't mind paying few extra bucks to shop the same product with better service in local shops, as well as potential tax or TRS benefit as I had trouble finding information if Australian invoice will be issued in some online shops.

  • Here is the Kogan alternative.

Not the same quality, no doubt. But $200 for all 3 pieces. Also agree with cminez that ebay has better deals going on hard-sides any day of the week.

I can't vouch for the Kogan's and they seem like an extremely good price if they're as good as the samsonites.

I think I may have bought mine from COTD for slightly less, and I certainly haven't regretted spending the money on these.

I've used the 81 cm case for multiple international trips to Malaysia and Europe. I specified Malaysia, because the baggage handlers there treat luggage with absolutely no respect at all…..and my bag has still survived. I've had them dragged the wrong way, crushed (with massive obvious indentations when my suitcase came out on the carousel which popped out easily). They have FSA approved combination locks.

They're super light, and so far, my experience has been that they are stronger than they look. Obviously, a hard case might by harder to break in the event of a massive force, but you're really looking at 2-3xs the additional weight for those hard cases.

These really are fantastic cases. The wheels are good and I think there's even a 10 year warranty on the zips etc.

P.S. I wouldn't be using these to transport extremely fragile goods because the outside is "flexible" and compressible.
