Backlit Keyboard for < $70

HI all,

Just wanting a backlit keyboard to use for a little bit of gaming at night. Doesn't need to be anything to fancy as I only play games like dota and left for dead.

Just looking for some suggestions, the cheaper the better :)

Thanks

Hi, it depends what color you want your backlight to be. Personally I use the G510s which can make the backlight any colour you want, but the problem is that it has way too many keys. It is personal preference.

  • There are these one

http://www.centrecom.com.au/razer-anansi-mmo-gaming-keyboard link above has it cheaper

If you can fork out the extra money i'd get this as is it a mechanical keyboard

  • Thanks

    Im also considering

    and

    http://www.arc.com.au/pub.php?gid=23186&pid=42800&p=product

Boards from ARC are preferred as they have a shop really close to my office and I'm in NSW
MSY is a little out of the way and delivery would make most deals not worth it

    • You can't go wrong with anything Logitech, I bought a Logitech G110 about 4 years ago and even after spilling a full glass of milo on it, it still worked, then when it started to smell I put it through the dishwasher and it came out better than before still working (Once it had dried)

But trust me when I say this go mechanical now. It might last longer or look better but the main reason is nothing beats the typing experience, It just feels better weather you get blues, red or browns

      • This has reminded me to ask a question: are there any CORDLESS mechanical keyboards?

        • I'm 99% sure they haven't created this yet, the cords on mech keyboards can be pretty thick so I'd say that they can't stream the data fast enough.
Also a lot of people seem to dislike wireless peripherals because of the slight lag they apparently get so it might be a while before a company invests the money and time.

        • @Bill48: To be honest I have no idea, very interesting tho. These don't seem to be Backlit I'm guessing you wouldn't get a very long life out of a wireless backlit mechanical keyboard.

Also I wouldn't really consider buying one until one of the big companies make it, mainly because of flaws would be iron out (dropping out, poor responsiveness) and warranty issues are a breeze with Logitech, Corsair, Cooler Master, ducky, ect

          But that's just my opinion

  • by the way if your still looking for one i saw this on kickstarter today:
    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/editorskeys/backlit-sho…

but that would work only if you can wait for it. it looks cool:P

  • dicksmith often have logitech on sale, picked up my mechanical backlit usb keybaord for $60 and love it, even though it has way for buttons than i need as i dont game.

    +1 for mechanical

Seems the older i get the more i want the old stuff, automatic self wind watch with a quality movement made in switzlnd, a keyboard with feedback and a biro that floats…
