  • I'd like to get an iPad with cellular… but I am conflicted between…

    16GB/32GB iPad Air v1 @ $659/$709
    16GB/64GB iPad Air v2 @ $779/$899

Is the iPad Air v2 worth the additional say… $190 to get the touch ID, anti-glare display, faster chip, camera, and extra memory?

Not to mention the extra 32gb! Hell yea, good design must be rewarded.

really?? nothing new just slimmer. disappointing.

  • Was hoping for a Macbook Pro/Air update, damn it. I guess they moved the release schedule to halfway through the year (there was a minor update, IIRC) so they can release with Broadwell on time next year. Should've jumped on that DSE deal the other day. grumble.

  • Need to buy an IPAD as a Xmas present for M-I-L… looking forward to some sales of the old 16GB wifi- retina.

Only new feature for the ipad mini 3 is Touch ID?

  • I still can't believe Apple is still releasing the base model ipad's with only 16GB of memory, hmmm after installing the OS update, apps, music, photo's and video's, your pretty much left with crap all(no expandable memory). Every year the prices increase, really! $499 for iPad mini 3?… I can't even update my ipad mini one(16GB) to iOS 8.1, need 4.7GB free and using just over 1GB, glad I didn't, now some Apps won't work due to updates….grrr.

    • blame exchange rates? You do know that aud-USD is 0.87

do they have bendgate feature? :P

Mini 3 is a major letdown and no Apple tv?

  • Thought I would share this with the other bargainers here.

I have an iPad 2 and have been waiting for this day so I could get an old mini retina at a good price.

Thanks to Cult of Mac, they have validated my decision to hold off. As they point out, the new Mini 3 is basically the Mini 2 with little to support the price increase.

Now….I wonder how long I'll have to wait to get a 128GB mini retina with 4G at a super steal…..
I'm almost certain someone will want to part with one to get the new iPad air…

  • Same as above I want to upgrade my current Air 16Gb but requires around 5Gb free just to do the iOS upgrade !!
16GB is a joke.. it will become obsolete after a year. (that long?)
Oh but wait that IS Apple's strategy so I then will have to buy another NEW one.

    • You can update through iTunes without having to clear space on your iPad.

  • Consumerism… Apple is KING at making you part with your dollars. I am happy that the products they make hold value. I have been able to get upgrades for the cost of about $100-$150.

    • I accidentally drowned my iPad 4 two weeks ago. :( bottle of water opened in my bag and killed my iPad.

I got lucky though. Insurance paid me out and the amount was a bit more than what I paid initially as I stacked a price match at Myer, used gift cards (buy $100 get $10 extra) and got gst back at the airport.

So in a way, yes it did hold its value and I'm probably getting the iPad air v1 with a top up of about $125.

      • Heh you did what I did. Stacked gift cards and then claimed GST.

On my new iPad I got one of those toy iPads from the eBay toy sale lol.

  • I was hoping for the non retina iMacs to be updated — it's been way too long.

I think they're waiting for Intel's broadwell chips to come out next year… I hope this is the case.

  • Can't see any reason to upgrade my Air.

Also a lost opportunity to add expandable memory. I don't understand this fanaticism with slimness. I'd rather have an important feature, like space, instead of it being razor thin.
